Dr. Jan Marquard is a physician-scientist and clinical development leader with over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Associate Vice President in Global Clinical Development at Merck & Co., Inc., he leads late-stage programs in the metabolic space, with a strong focus on obesity and MASH. Originally trained as a pediatrician, Dr. Marquard has dedicated his career to translating scientific innovation into meaningful patient care. As an experienced clinical trialist, he has successfully designed and executed global clinical trial programs from Phase 1 through Phase 3, navigating complex regulatory landscapes to bring new therapies to the market. He is deeply committed to improving patient outcomes through robust scientific evidence, clinical collaboration, and the development of next-generation cardio-kidney-liver-metabolic treatments.
